‘Arbeidsvitaminen’ is the longest running radio show in the world and in 2021 it celebrated its 75th anniversary.
To celebrate this, we designed and built an installation consisting of 75 different radios, one for every year ‘Arbeidsvitaminen’ has aired. All of these radio’s combined form the number ’75’.
The installation consists of large metal beams forming the base for the radios to sit on. The structure is made up of 6 different parts making it easy to be transportable if needed.
Visitors can rotate a giant knob to select a year and this will result in playing a popular track from that year on the specific radio from that year. The selected radio will also light up in their own unique lighting pattern.
My role as creative lead was to design and create the installation. I also designed and animated the lighting setup on the radios which resulted in 75 individual 10sec animations. During the construction i leaded the building team and was also present on site to instal the project.
